Technology in LMS

In the past decades, digital technology has been advancing change and innovation in the education sector. It has improved the different learning and teaching management systems in learning institutions across the world.
For educators, the use of digital technology helps them to create more comprehensive lessons that are supported by different resources and materials. These materials can be easily accessible and user friendly. Technology also improves the creation of curriculum as more topics and online resources are included from global education communities giving access to a wide range of knowledge and skills to learners.
One major contribution of digital education is that personalized learning experiences have become possible for learners with different abilities and skills. It is easier to modify and differentiate learning tools, teaching style, type of tasks given etc using different apps and softwares to meet the different needs of learners. Learners with advanced knowledge could be given more challenging tasks, weaker students can benefit from extra attention and support to perform their assignments, and learners that have special needs or different learning methods can also benefit from differentiated learning that is personalized to help them reach their goals.
When enabled, resources to assist the learner with the task or skill. The PLD can also recommend related courses based on students’ interests and previously completed learning. The tool helps teachers and higher learning institutions design learning environments that are unique to each student.
Another benefit of technological innovation is that it improves access to equitable learning. Learners with different skills and abilities are able to access materials that support their learning, and are able to translate them for better understanding. This is important for learners whose first language is not English. Learners can use captions to follow lessons closely, or convert the materials into simpler formats based on their specific needs. Learners can also improve their performance by choosing how they work as some like to write details, others like to create projects, and other learners may use more expressive art to complete their tasks and reach the expected goals.
Equitable education also creates opportunities for learners that may not be able to attend physical education institutions. It allows them to access the same lessons, to discuss different issues with their instructors, to leave and receive messages anytime, and have similar learning experience as their peers that attend classrooms. For learners that do not have computers or bigger digital devices, most phones work with LMS systems and learners can access their lessons from home, work or wherever they are. The availability of online learning materials and resources enables learners to easily find and work on their studies, submit their work and also get feedback from their instructors.
I updated the format because it was difficult to read (it went off the page). Also, it was recommended by Dr. Suphak to include any references you used to support your article. It would be great is you could include those. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYes, the formatting was not working before, and now I cant edit it. The following references support the above points.
